Pianist Ilya Yakushev received his early training in St.Petersburg, Russia, where he won his first of many presitgious awards at the age of 12. More recently he garnered First Prize and Gold Medal from the International Piano Competition of Cincinnati, Ohio, along witht highly praised recitals at Alice Tully Hall and Weill Recital Halls in New York. In 2006, he made headlines with a concert program including three piano concertos (by Saint Saens, Ravel, and Prokofiev) in a performance conducted by his teacher at New York's Mannes School of Music, the legendary pianist Vladimir Feltsman.
